Sound like your house?

The first cold nights are when heating problems show up. Every one of these gets worse, and more expensive, the longer the system runs broken.

Heating

No heat at all

Thermostat says on, but nothing happens. Often it's the igniter, a safety switch or a tripped limit. In most cases that means a repair, not a replacement.

Heating

Furnace turns on, then shuts off

That's short cycling. Usually it's a dirty flame sensor, a clogged filter or an overheating limit switch. It's cheap to fix now, but expensive if the blower motor goes.

Heating

Heat pump blowing cool air

It could be low refrigerant, a stuck reversing valve or a defrost problem. Either way, running it like that wears out the compressor.

Cooling

AC running but not cooling

Warm air from the vents usually means low refrigerant, a dirty coil, or a failing compressor. It's worth fixing now so it's ready next May.

Cooling

Ice on the lines or water on the floor

That's a frozen coil or a clogged drain. First, shut it off. Then call, because running an iced-up unit can take out the compressor.

Both

Bills jumped, comfort dropped

A system past 12 to 15 years often costs more to run than a new one costs to finance. So we'll show you the math, with no pressure.

Not sure which one? Describe it on the phone. We'll know.

What the special actually gets you

Heat and AC combo, installed. One system, one price, before winter.

A heat pump does both jobs. In summer it runs like a regular central AC. In winter it reverses and heats the house. One system, one install, one thing to maintain. Here's what the price actually covers.

  • Installed price, not a teaser

Most advertised HVAC prices are equipment only. Then labor, disposal and the permit land on the invoice. This one, however, is a complete system, installed and running.

  • Quoted in writing before we start

You see the number at the estimate, not after the truck shows up. If your home needs extra work, such as ductwork or electrical, it's quoted separately and in writing first.

  • Sized honestly

If your home genuinely needs more than 3 tons, we'll tell you, instead of undersizing it to hit an ad price.

  • Our own techs, not subcontractors

The crew that installs it is the crew we trained. In addition, we pull the permit and register the manufacturer warranty for you.

  • Financing for approved buyers

Ask about monthly payment options at the estimate. Subject to credit approval.

How it works

  1. We come look, free

A tech checks your home, ductwork and electrical, and confirms the right size.

  2. You get one number

Written price before any work starts. If your home qualifies, it's $8,999.

  3. We install and test

Most standard replacements are done in a day. The old equipment leaves with us.

Common questions

Furnace and heating repair questions we hear every week

Short answers first. If yours isn't here, call 267-234-1350 and ask; a real person picks up.

How fast can Retro HVAC get to a no-heat call?

Usually the same day. No-heat calls go to the front of the line, and homes with infants, older adults or medical needs go first.

Which areas do you cover for furnace repair?

Bucks, Montgomery and Chester County, Pennsylvania, roughly 30 miles around Warminster. For example, Doylestown, Lansdale, Willow Grove, Newtown, Horsham, Ambler and Blue Bell are all in range. We do not service New Jersey.

How much does furnace repair cost?

It depends on the part. Because of that, the tech diagnoses first, then gives you a written price before any work. You can say no and pay only the service call.

Do you repair heat pumps and mini-splits?

Yes. We service every major heat pump and ductless mini-split brand, as well as gas, oil and electric furnaces and boilers.

What is included in the $79 heater tune-up?

A full safety and performance check of one residential heating system before winter. If we find a problem, we quote the repair separately so you can decide.

Should I repair or replace my furnace?

If the system is past ten years old, or the repair costs a serious share of a new one, the tech shows you both numbers. Then you choose, with no pressure either way.

Do you offer financing on a new furnace or heat pump?

Yes, for approved buyers. Ask at the free in-home estimate and we will walk you through monthly options.

Is Retro HVAC licensed and insured?

Yes. Pennsylvania HIC #2372349, BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, and 4.9 stars on more than 270 Google reviews.

Heat or AC, repair or replace. One call finds out.

The tech shows you what failed, what the repair costs, and what a new system costs. After that, you pick.

A real person answers 24/7, nights and weekends included. Tell us it's an emergency and we move you up; homes with infants, older adults or medical needs go first.
